Filipino weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz brought pride to Philippines as she gave the country's first silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games early Monday morning.

The Filipina athlete, who secured a medal in the women's 53-kg weightlifting division, ended the country's 20-year Olympic medal drought.
 
The 25-year-old native of Zamboanga city recored a total weight of 200 kg.

Meanwhile,Chinese-Taipei's Hsu Shu-Ching took the gold with a total weight of 212 kg and Korea's Yoon Jin Hee won the broze with 199 kg.
